The UIG is a UK based group which is run by unpaid volunteers who are sufferers of uveitis.

The Uveitis Information Group was set up in April 1998 in response to a recognition by the consultants at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary that there was very little information being produced for patients.  It was considered that there was both a demand and a need for a good source of patient information and support. It's aims are:

  • The UIG wishes to promote a positive attitude to all aspects of uveitis

  • The UIG aims to encourage the best possible communication and cooperation between patients and medical staff involved in the treatment of uveitis.

  • The UIG is interested in feedback in the form of comments, articles or letters for the newsletters, from both uveitis sufferers and medical staff.

The group provides information in the form of leaflets and fact sheets to anyone who contacts the group.  Newsletters are provided to subscribers of the UIG about 2-3 times a year in printed form or via the web site (see newsletters).

Enquiries by telephone, post or e-mail for information and support are  welcomed. To also find out about joining the UIG as a subscriber please contact the group (see top of page).
