- Those who are told they have uveitis have usually never
heard of it before and haven’t come across anyone else with it.
- Peoples’ experiences and problems with uveitis vary
so much because the condition is so variable.
It is very important to recognise this variation and it is
certainly something which is “harped on about” a great deal in these
newsletters. Having said that, there will also be a lot of common ground
between sufferers. Experiences with dealing with side effects of drugs
or about explaining the effects of uveitis to an employer are 2 examples of
subjects that crop up often in conversations. It is this “common ground”
that we would like to concentrate on in the newsletters.
General information on all types of uveitis and topics
surrounding uveitis, in any amount of detail, can be obtained by contacting
the group. This information will always be of a general nature and should
always be used to “back up” the information you receive from your own
doctors.
The UIG wishes to offer support and good information
wherever possible. The group is, of course, unable to offer any sort of
opinion on an individual’s treatment or diagnosis.
